British Apples & Pears Limited (BAPL) is proud to announce the launch of a brand-new award: the Best British Apple Launch Award.
This award will celebrate the most impactful, creative, and effective campaigns or activations that support the start of the British apple and pear season (September–November).
Whether it’s a memorable TV advert, a standout in-store display, a sales-driving promotion, investment in sampling, engaging online storytelling, or a powerful multichannel campaign – we want to celebrate the very best examples of how retailers bring the new British season to life.
Who can enter?

🛒 Open to all UK-based retailers – online, in-store, or both
📅 Campaign activity must relate specifically to the start of the British apple and pear season (September–November 2025)
Key dates
- Entries open: Mid-December 2025
- Deadline for entries: 31 January 2026
- Judging: March–April 2026
- Winner announced: April 2026
Judging criteria
Entries will be judged by a panel including leading British apple growers and trade media representatives. The judging will be fair, independent, and based on the following weighted criteria:
- Creativity & Innovation (20%) – Original ideas, seasonal cues, storytelling
- Execution Quality (20%) – Standout investment, strong British signage, displays, staff engagement, digital integration
- Impact (40%) – Sales uplift, customer engagement, campaign reach
- Support for British Growers (20%) – Visibility of growers, collaboration, clear British provenance
