Each month, British Apples & Pears limited collates data from our grower members to track British apple and pear sales to UK supermarkets.
Annual British pear sales data is provided below. The data ‘year’ runs from September to August to reflect the British growing season. Our harvest generally starts in September each year.
2023/24
Here’s the same annual data presented as a percentage of all British pears sold, by supermarkets (green line). The red line is a comparison data point of the grocery market share for that supermarket. We would expect the share of British pears sold to be about the same as the supermarket’s grocery market share, but some are doing much better than others.
