Government Policy

BAPL liaises closely with government on behalf of its member British apple and pear growers. We respond to inquiries, take part in sector meetings and engage with MPs, Defra, civil servants and ministers.

Submission on contractual relationships (February 2024)

Joint submission with other crop associations in response to a Defra request for information regarding contractual relationships between fruit growers and UK retailers.

BAPL provides evidence to EFRA select committee (January 2024)

Ali Capper, executive chair of BAPL, appeared in front of the EFRA select committee to provide evidence and answer questions on fairness in the food supply chain
