INGREDIENTS
For the apples:
- 3 Bramley apples
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp water
For the crumble:
- 1/3 cup plain flour
- 1 cup oats
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 6 tbsp vegan butter1/2 cup oats (added in later on)
METHOD
- Preheat the oven to 200C and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- Peel 3 bramley apples and cut them into small chunks.
- Add the apples to a saucepan with brown sugar and 2 tbsp of water.
- Cook the apples on medium heat for 4-5 minutes until the apples are soft. Once cooked, set aside and allow to cool.
- For the crumble, add 1 cup of oats into a medium-sized bowl with plain flour, cinnamon, brown sugar and vegan butter. Mix everything together until well combined and use your hands to help combine and form a crumble. The mixture will still be sticky.
- Pour the crumble mix onto the lined baking tray and use your hands to break the mixture apart slightly. Add 1/2 cup extra oats and roughly combine them with the mixture on the tray. Flatten the mixture on the tray using your hands.
- Place the baking tray in the oven for 12 minutes.
- The apples should have cooled down by now, so divide them between 4 glasses/jars. Add a layer of the crumble on top of the apples then add an extra layer of apple and another layer of crumble.
- Finally, serve with your favourite vegan ice cream and enjoy!
