Phil Vickery cooks up a storm with British apples on ITV’s This Morning

To celebrate the start of the British Apples and Pears season, with this year’s harvest delivering a whopping 1.6 billion apples and pears, ITV’s This Morning resident chef Phil Vickery carried out his cooking segment live from Hartley Dyke Farm in Kent, whilst weaving in key Start of Season messaging and figures. With an average audience of 1.5 million viewers every day, ITV’s This Morning is one of the UK’s most popular chat shows on national TV, which helped to drive further excitement around the start of season.

The seven-minute segment began with our Start of Season messaging, as Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby referenced how the British apples season is now in full swing, and this year would provide the tastiest crop of apples. As the footage panned the orchards, Phil explains how it looks ‘stunning’ down at the orchard and goes on to introduce the cooking segment, where he shows viewers a Bramley and a Braeburn apple, describing their individual ‘beautiful colours’ and other characteristics.

The segment filmed Vickery cooking up a delicious autumn apple crumble pie with stunning backdrops of the British orchards, showing viewers how to incorporate juicy British apples into one of the most classic apple recipes. What’s more, throughout the segment, fragments of the orchard drone footage were shown in between Holly & Phil’s segments which included numerous mentions of Hartley Dyke Farm.
